About
Welcome to Acapulco Bar & Grill, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama. Located at 430 Green Springs Hwy #1, this vibrant eatery is celebrated not just for its authentic Mexican cuisine but also for its warm, inviting ambiance and exceptional service.
At Acapulco, the menu beckons with a tantalizing array of dishes that cater to every palate. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty Sopa Costena—a seafood soup bursting with flavors of crab, shrimp, scallops, mussels, and tilapia—or the comforting Chicken Tortilla Soup, which is a delightful mix of shredded chicken, onions, avocado, and crispy tortilla chips, there's something to satisfy your hunger. The prices here are reasonable, with the seafood soup at $16.45 and the comforting chicken option starting at $7.95—a steal for such a culinary experience.
For those looking to start their meal off right, the dips are a must-try. The Spinach Dip ($4.50) and Black Bean Dip ($3.00) offer a delicious accompaniment to their freshly made chips, which you can enjoy for just $1.00. Pair these with their house-made guacamole for an additional $1.00, and you have a perfect prelude to your meal.
The atmosphere at Acapulco Bar & Grill is equally as appealing as the food. Patrons rave about the giant portions that often leave them with extra to take home. As Fatimah Mohammad notes, the perfect consistency and seasoning of the shrimp make it hard to visit any other Mexican restaurant afterward. The margaritas, particularly their frozen varieties available in multiple flavors, have garnered enthusiastic praise, making Acapulco a fantastic spot for unwinding after a long day.
Have a culinary adventure with a menu that boasts everything from raw oysters on the half shell to flavorful paella and traditional favorites. The friendly staff ensures that your experience is both enjoyable and memorable—something that Jackson Pike McAdams highlights, remarking on the pleasant atmosphere that avoids overcrowding.
Beyond the vibrant dishes, it is the service that truly sets Acapulco apart. Customers consistently laud the knowledgeable and cordial staff, who make every visit feel special. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like royalty, as noted by various customers who have shared their dining experiences.
In summary, Acapulco Bar & Grill is not just a place to eat; it's an experience that captures the essence of authentic Mexican dining while offering top-notch hospitality. If you seek generous portions, flavorful dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere in Birmingham, make your way to Acapulco Bar & Grill. You won't just leave satisfied; you'll be planning your next visit before you even step out the door!
“ We love this place! We don't even visit any other Mexican Restaurants anymore since this is the best one. The shrimps are always perfect consistency and seasoning. The plates are huge, we always end up taking home some food. And the Margaritas! OMG, best frozen Margaritas in a variety of flavors! It is very special dining in here because the customer is King & Queen there! ”

“ Great place for authentic food. Service was excellent. Greatest us when we came in. Did not have to wait on a table. Short wait on the food. To be fair we were there on a Saturday afternoon around 2 ish. Light crowd. Everything was delight Friends ordered the fried chimichanga platter and Taco bowl. I ordered the #16 I think, Spanish enchiladas, beef burrito and a taco. Everything was delicious. The salsa and chips were good also. They had just the right spice and kick. ”

“ Very good experience! Came here for dinner. Was greeted with two kinds of salsa. One spicy and one not. We also had questions. My son ordered the plain nachos (just beef, melted cheese and Tortilla chips). It was very tasty and a large portion! I ordered the chicken. Tortilla soup. OMG!!! It was a BIG bowl! The soup was very good too! Slices of avocado were around the plate. Spanish Rice, Tortilla strips, pulled chicken were in the soup. It was very filling and tasty. I also had a small lime margarita. Very tasty meal. Service was quick (especially since it was Friday). I will certainly return. ”
